Perception Scaled is a 50min audiovisual live set that is thought to be played on a spatialized surround sound system and a 360 screen surface. It is never- theless adjustable for a simpler setup.

This piece is a journey into a generative 3D world that merges geometric and organic elements to create a confusion of scale and perception. Playing with the infinitely small and the infinitely large, these ef- fects of scale will take the viewer into an immersive and abstract story sometimes crossing the border between figurative and recognizable elements.

The sound will also be shifting and evolving, with organic textures transformed and spatialized throughout the piece. Oscillating between ambient and experimental parts filled with field recording and club-like passages with electronic sound syn- thesizers, it will bring the listener into a very eventful composition that will never stop evolving throughout the show.

The link between video and sound was designed to be very responsive and recognizable to the au- dience. The sound coming out of the machines is sent to MAX MSP, which processes the information sent by network to TouchDesigner in order to gene- rate interactions. In fact, many elements are linked so that when there is a variation played live on the sound composition, it has an immediate impact on the visual. This configuration makes the composition unique each time it is played.

As of today, this performance has been played only once for the Mapping Festival in Geneva. We had the chance to use a space called «Syllepse», equipped with a 360° sound and visual setup. For future perfor- mances, we are open to reducing our installation to a more practical device, but the more time we have to prepare on site, the more we can adapt the scenogra- phy to its environment.
